APRIL 2018 GLOBAL ASTROLOGICAL OVERVIEW PLUS YOUR HOROSCOPE

We are all in a state of some consternation and/ or disbelief at the state of the planet on many levels… and indeed this month is pretty intense globally.

Significantly, Uranus, a powerful outer planet, (as is Neptune and Pluto) is now coming to its end of journey through Aries, which it has been traversing for the past aprox.7 years.

It is important to remember that the outer planets activity is connected to the global collective unconscious in their manifestation.

Whenever an outer planet travels through a sign (Uranus for aprox 7 years, Neptune aprox 14 years, and Pluto, up to 20 years) it focuses on and brings global changes, often unexpectedly, related the values, status, qualities, power and characteristics associated with that sign, and makes significant long term changes in those areas accordingly, for good or ill, depending on the qualities and powers and symbolism of the particular transiting outer planet.

Uranus is now ready to dip its toe into Taurus next month, to give us a hint, (till early November) of what lies ahead with this new energy combination. However it will return to Aries in November for a few months, to revisit, finalise and rubber-stamp its work in Aries, (as outlined below), which has been evident for the last 7 years, then will commit itself to Taurus fully from next March for aprox. 7 years .From Taurus, he will shift the revolutionary change and unpredictability away from Aries qualities/values, and align itself to catalyse significant change related to the global principles, values, issues and interests of the signTaurus. (More on this next month).

So retrospectively let us review what Uranus has brought us from Aries over the last 7 years (He travels through each sign approximately every 84 years for 7 years)

Fiery Aries represents the power of the individual and the power of independence, initiative, and often very determined and ambitious self-interest , pride and self assertion .Aries is after all ruled by the fighting spirit of Mars (It is the opposite of the sign of Libra, which is about, amongst other things, collective partnership and cooperation and harmony, ruled by Venus)

Uranus is a planet of rebellion, the maverick and anti establishment energies and progress, the future, a desire for innovation, change, but also especially brings about the unexpected. Hence from Aries, the marriage of these energies , has been over the last 7 years, a surprising blow to the establishment, with a reaction against globalisation and internationalism; and the desire by many, often feeling left behind/ignored by the impersonal powers that be, to assert themselves and return to more personal control over their destiny, to nationalism, independence, pride and protectionism. Rebellions against extensive inclusiveness and multinationalism within nations too, have been very evident. This indeed has reared its head significantly, on quite a global level.  The Brexit and Trump phenenomenon are exact examples of this. In many ways the surprise rebellious shifts in ideology and its outcomes has created a very binary and divisive mood.

Uranus also very much rules technology and indeed from Aries, this has swiftly empowered technology in its reach and indeed empowered the individual (Aries), through social media in a rapid and remarkable, surprising way. This has, in turn, been exploited by social media and by data trawling organisations, for political and economic gain, and so as to try to be influential in manipulating political ideology and individual voting orientation. This phenomenon has recently been very much flagged up.  (For every progress it seems, there is an equal and opposite regress/abuse).

 This energy has indeed infiltrated social media and politics significantly, both for good and ill.

As always, there is a hubristic quality to success and power when it gets a little too bold, powerful and abused. The last throws of Uranus in Aries will expose much of this influence, creating a nemesis for those who used their technological power carelessly (the creators and exploiters) for self-seeking political, monetary or any other nefarious gain.

Mercury is retrograde still till the 15^th-16^th, so much remains till then, confused or held up and unresolved, with much smoke and mirrors around, globally and for us all personally, in some area of life.

The fake news theme could not be more pertinent now as facts get shrouded in shades of grey when this happens and resolutions to events/crisis have to wait.

The second part of the month should bring some clarity and decisions can be made.

Days of potential ominous, rash and angry misuse of power or tense international stand offs are around the 11^th when the Sun squares Pluto and again between the 25^th-28^th, when Mars conjuncts Pluto (forceful and explosive.)

A period of the unpredictable, when geophysical events are like to be eruptive, such as earthquakes, floods, volcanic events etc, is between the 17^th and 20^th, when the Sun conjuncts Uranus (once a year)

England’s chart currently sees Saturn conjunct it’s Sun all month, and square Teresa Mays Sun simultaneously, a time of real testing, with a need for great care and maturity in dealing with international issues. Frustrations abound.

The US economy is now looking very shaky as Saturn starts to affect its house of economic security and now opposes Trump’s Mercury. He may fast lose friends and supporters. Also Uranus (shock /change) squares up to the USA’S Pluto, in the house of financial security. Saturn too will oppose the USA’S Venus over the coming months. Trade wars look very likely and are unlikely to help the economy.

The Moon is new at 26 degrees of Aries on the 16^th. The new Moon equals the birth of the new and progressive..

The full Moon falls at 9 degrees of Scorpio on the 30th. Endings of chapters are in the ether… The primeval forces of the reptilian brain and the unconscious tend to be unleashed.

 

ARIES

Your birthday period is a time to shine. 

Indeed, Mercury in your sign, is giving all born up to April 2^nd, an opportunity to really express yourself with interesting quality.  However, remember that before the 15^th, Mercury is retrograde, so there is still that danger of misunderstandings and delays but after the 15^th, you can launch ahead with confidence that blocks will be removed… meanwhile take time to rethink self and direction.

After the 24^th, all born up to March 28^th will find that their ability to combine heart with brain is enhanced and harmony with others is very easily achieved. 

Mars is currently squaring your sign and for all born March 28^th to April 13^th there is the potential for a little over-assertion from other people, particularly in the work place, or indeed for your own impatience and determination to dominate and one needs to be cautious about forcing your hand against others.  Rash decisions and rash actions could be regretted.

Saturn also currently in Capricorn is directly squaring the Suns of those born March 28^th to 31^st.  Time to look after the body and a time to recognise that some issues are a harder mountain to climb than you anticipated.  Restrictions and limitations, lack of confidence and reality checks abound.  They are for the learning. 

Uranus is still in your sign and is now moved to directly affect those born April 17^th to 21^st.  This once every 84-year visitation is powerful and lasts until March of next year.  Change is the only certainty and you must remain flexible.  This is an interesting, awakening and enlightening journey. 

Finally, Pluto, now moved to 21 degrees of Capricorn, is currently squaring the Suns  of those born April 10^th to 12^th.  This particular journey will last until around March 2019.  Power struggles are possible within your soul about finding the correct road to your destiny, particularly connected to career direction, but beware of anybody who misuses power in authority.  Draw boundaries, keep squeaky clean and avoid people who don’t. 

The Moon is new on the 16^th at 26 degrees of your sign. Those feeling this strongly are born April 16^th-18^th. Taking the initiative and celebrating the new in life and sowing good seeds, literally and metaphorically are flagged up successfully at this time.

TAURUS

Much behind the scenes contemplation is likely this month, or behind the scenes service to others. 

Mercury going direct from the 15^th will make you feel more confident about communicating with other people after that date and less isolated.

Venus your ruler, however is in your sign all this month, so for all of you the feeling of harmony, beauty and love is imbued within you and affections are strong.  The arts are enhanced in your soul and desire for beauty is powerful. 

Mars is very constructive now for all those born from April 28^th to May 14^th.  Courage, energy, drive and determination is yours.  Intelligent action.  This is particularly good for academia and for travel. 

Jupiter is currently in your opposite sign of Scorpio, directly opposing the Suns now of those born May 9^th to 14^th.  For you, this is a time of expansion, confidence, growth, but there is a downside, where there can be a tendency to overreach, bite off more than you can chew, be over-generous, or be influenced by people who tempt you to go a little bit too far.  However, enjoyment and travel is definitely on the cards.  Just keep perspective.

Saturn is now providing a cautionary tale for those born April 28^th to May 1^st in the sense that he is bringing restraint and maturity to you.  Travel may be for duty and obligation and the need to be disciplined, patient and focused is very much there and allows you to see the positive results of this. 

Neptune is now enhancing the Suns of those born May 4^th to 7^th.  Idealism is yours, but in a constructive way.  It is excellent for people involved in the arts, music and wonderful for being near the sea.  Empathy, compassion, sensitivity to others is powerful and your psychic sensitivity is enhanced. This is gong to hover around you as an influence right through to the end of 2019, so enjoy and exploit that sensitivity and creativity.  Mind and heart are truly in balance. 

Finally, Pluto is now empowering those born May 11^th to 13^th.  A sense of regeneration, transformation and embracing your potential with a sense of destiny is yours; and long distance issues, academic issues and legal issues are empowered. 

GEMINI

Friendships are important to you this months and good communications are vital, particularly needing to be clarified before the 15^th, because confusions and misunderstandings can abound, but after the 15^th the wonderful communications can work wonders if born May 25^th to June 4^th. 

Venus moves into your sign on the 24^th, enhancing the lives in terms of affections and creative skills and brings a feel good factor for you, particularly if born up to May 29^th.  You also look good and feel good.

   

Saturn in your solar 8th house, although not directly strongly affecting your sign, is possibly bringing for some, a sense of isolation when it comes to a frustrated need for closeness .. and you may have to ask yourself why, and how much it is connected to your need for over rationalisation of things and even a fear of the deeply emotional and vulnerable areas of life and relationships..

Uranus is now very complimentary for a long haul now, for those born from June 18^th to 22^nd.  This particular influence is long lasting and very benevolent and is with you for a year.  New friends will be catalysts for change, for excitement and to wake you up to all sorts of potential possibilities.  Trust your intuition.  The power of technology can also be particularly beneficial

However, Neptune is bringing a word of warning to those born June 4^th to 7^th.  From his square position in Pisces, there is an element of selective perception and rose coloured spectacles, self-deception or some potential deception from others and some misunderstandings.  Beware of escapism and over idealism.  Keep grounded.  Keep clear.  Keep black and white and make sure you have clarity. 

CANCER

Before the 15^th you all need to be aware that, if born between June 25^th and July 6^th, there is a distinct danger of misunderstandings, particularly in the work place and also a sense of frustration as things get blocked.  However, after the 15^th things run smoothly, so have patience and spend time re-thinking things, rather than acting before that date.

All month Venus is happily smiling on your sign suggesting a sociable period with good, harmonious cooperative friends and even love can be highlighted.

Mars however is opposing your sign, particularly for those born June 29^th to July 16^th, which suggests that there will be some possible feelings of confrontation from others, stimulated by them.  Competitive energies are in the air and challenge.  People are no pushovers.  Tread carefully and ask yourself if the challenge is justified, or is this a sign for you to walk away.

Jupiter however is very much smiling on those born July 11^th to 16^th.  Love life, fertility, children’s issues, fun, enjoyment, celebration of the arts and success there is all underlined.  Happiness, positivity, confidence and travel is also flagged up. 

However, Saturn is in your opposite sign now; and will be for two years, and is currently opposing the Suns of those born June 29^th to July 1^st.  For this group, reality checks around others are strong.  People are blocking you, restricting you or challenging you and there are general feelings of frustrations in the air.  This is a learning curve and an opportunity to ask yourself if you are either in the right relationship or doing the right thing, or where there is a genuine need to learn from others.

Uranus too is quite tricky currently for those born July 19^th to 22^nd.  This quite long transit will be with you on and off for about a year and there is unpredictability in your professional status, restlessness and the unexpected, although disturbing can ultimately be liberating.  Change can be good, even if not particularly sought. 

However, Neptune is inspiring for those born July 6^th to 9^th and right through to the end of 2019 you are blessed with a sense of spiritual and creative uplift.  Talents of an artistic side are underlined as is idealism and growth in the power of the heart. 

However, if born around July 13^th to 15^th, you just embarking on a significant journey until around the end of 2019 which is going to test you to be able to withstand the influence of other people who may be quite dominating or powerful in a way that is challenging to you.  Intense experiences around others are rather feted and the endings of chapters are possible.  Not least in relationships.  Avoid abusive people, or those who take advantage of your sensitivity.

LEO

The month of April is a positive one for you and can be advantageous to do with long distance issues, travel and legal issues as well. 

Mercury is also suggesting travel is possible, particularly for those born July 26^th to august 6^th. 

However, before the 15^th, such endeavours can be subject to delay, blocks and restrictions, as can legal issues. So, only after the 15^th will you feel that there is definite progress.

Venus in Taurus is likely to tempt many of you to be over indulgent and maybe a little bit pompous or overly proud or have over-expectations in terms of your public reputation.  Be careful of sycophancy. 

After the 4^th however, if born up to July 31^st, friendships and goals can be harmonised to your satisfaction  

Jupiter is currently squaring the Suns of all those born August 11^th to 16^th.  This group can be feeling incredibly over the top in their indulgence, confidence, even a little on the arrogant side at times.  Expecting too much of others and of themselves and pushing the boat out a bit too far is danger.  Beware of careless complacency. 

Uranus however is just starting on a long transit of about a year, which is very inspiring to those born August 20^th to 23^rd.  He is bringing surprise and awakening, enlightening and opportunities and very constructive change, possibly from other countries and liberations are in the air too.  Intellectually more objectivity is yours.    You intuition is strong. 

VIRGO

This month is a time where you may have to involve yourself in some fairly profound conversations with other people about complex financial matters and also about the validity and depth of feelings between you and others.

However, before the 15^th communications can be awkward.  Misunderstandings can be in the air .  After the 15^th, there is more feeling of hitting the mark. 

All month Venus in Taurus is enhancing the lives of you all in terms of increased harmony, love, financial gain and gain, travel can, particularly combined with love live, can be very beneficial and pleasing. 

After the 24^th, if born up to August 31^st however, beware of extravagance that may be regretted later. 

Mars is also very helpful for all born September 1^st to 16^th.  Creative courage and romantic courage and progress is in the air.  Determination and adventure is yours, which can be very satisfying, romantically, to do with the arts and in terms of social life and children’s issues.

Jupiter is also enhancing the confidence and intelligence of those born September 11^th to 16^th.  Your thoughts are generous, philosophical and wise and constructive and good news is in the air. 

Even Saturn is helpful to those born September 1^st to 3^rd, as he is bringing groundedness, pragmatism and practicality and maturity in your actions and decisions re creative work and love life. 

Neptune, however brings a bit of a warning sign, subtle, but significant, if born September 6^th to 9^th.  You are continuing to be until the end of 2019 vulnerable to others who are not totally consciously or unconsciously clear in how they present themselves, and you are seeing people as you wish to see them; projecting onto them issues that satisfy you, rather than the reality. Other people may indeed be pulling the wool over your eyes and you need to be very grounded, very clear and healthily cynical in order to see what is really there, rather than what you want to see.

Meanwhile, Pluto, now in Capricorn, is enhancing the powers of those born around September 13^th to 15^th.  Until the end of 2019 there is the ability to recharge, remake, review and fulfil a destiny with courage and determination and a sense of fate in your creative and romantic life.  This once every 124 period gives courage, confidence and insight that is invaluable and a sense of acceptance of your gifts.

LIBRA

Relationships are powerful influences in your life now, but it is importance before the 15^th, particularly if born September 27^th to October 7^th, to ensure that you thoroughly understand partners and other people’s communications because there is a lot of room for confusions that can make you end up at the wrong time, wrong place and which can bring misunderstandings later.

After the 24^th, all born up to the end of September can find a lot of pleasure through academic study and through travel and it can connect with love life in some way, but harmony is very definitely in the air.

Mars, however, is a little tricky, as he now square to your sign, and particularly for those born October 1^st to 16^th, where there are distinct possibilities of feeling that family issues or people with whom you share home space, are being a little dysfunctional and possibly even aggressive.  A bit of a bull in a china shop feeling is around you and you have to be careful and tactical, but anger is festering somewhere.  Be careful how you respond to it and its also important that you get out your anger calmly, as you feel it, rather than sit and let it build.

SCORPIO

Venus in your opposite sign all month does point to a period where there is much affection and love brought to you from others and which you can reciprocate.  It also gives a love of beauty and harmony.  However it can also indicate the great desire for self-indulgence.

Mars is very constrictive now if born November 1^st to 16^th.  Your thoughts and your communications are delivered with passion and intensity and ideological fervour, but intelligence of delivery and power can be very functional and rewarding. 

Jupiter, currently in your sign, is excellent now in his once every twelve year visitation for all born November 11^th to 16^th.  For this group travel, luck, confidence, enjoyment, financial gain, benevolence and growth is all yours.  Just do not let it tip into arrogance and complacency.

Even Saturn is constructive for those born November 1^st to 3^rd.  He is bringing a element of caution, a grown up attitude, wisdom, groundedness, practical common sense and hard work that is constrictive.

Neptune too is very much enhancing the imagination, creative font, the empathy, the sensitivity and the idealistic side, if born November 6^th to 9^th.  This is with you until the end of 2019, so enjoy.  It also brings an extra boost to romantic idealism, fulfilment through children or grandchildren and creative gifts that are beyond just the mind.  The heart is really working hard and productively. 

Pluto, your Sun ruler, is also now moved to directly affect those born November 13^th to 15^th and will be so affecting you until the end of next year and this brings profundity, wisdom, depth, insight, a forensic mind and the power to communicate in a way that can change others.  It’s transformational and intense and brings an element of destiny into your life because of wise use of insight and communication skills.  

The full Moon is at 9 degrees of your sign on the 30^th. It is noteworthy that all born 1st-3^rd of November, need to be very aware on the 9^th of potential eruptions of rather explosive moods and outbursts that have been lurking within self, or indeed within and from others. SAGITTARIUS

April can be quite a fun month for you as the sun is in your solar 5^th house, which is excellent for creativity, enjoyment, fertility and celebrating life. 

Mercury is also in the same area of your chart, but before the 15^th, if born 26^th November to December 6^th, be wary that communications, while Mercury is retrograde, can be a little complex, misunderstandings abound and they can be hiccups and hold-ups that are not anticipated.  However, after the 15^th, the same group can enjoy straightforward, constructive, healthy communications that work. 

After the 24^th, Venus moves into your opposite sign of Gemini which, for all born up to November 30^th, augers will for affections and love life and partners are in cooperative and loving mode and other people are pleasing to your being. 

There is quite a lot going on in many Sagittarians’ lives currently to do with being very grounded and realistic and pragmatic and mature about financial issues and very determined to get them right, with Mars and Saturn in Capricorn.  As sort of desire, with Jupiter in Scorpio as well, to ensure some sort of psychological security for the future. 

Uranus is also very helpful for those born after December 18^th.  This year long energy is likely to inspire creatively.  It brings innovation, intuition, to do with the arts, to do with children’s issues and love life, which can be awakened and enlightened in some way.  It’s a constrictive period of leaping into a new and rather surprising, but good future. 

However, Neptune is being a little bit on the smoke and mirrors side, towards those born December 6^th to 9^th.  One needs to be very clear about certain issues connected to domestic, change, circumstances and family issues and be aware that it is important not to live in a fantasy world about certain things or avoid realities and always make sure that you understand the clarity of detail.  It is a rather blind journey that you’re on.  You’re floating, which is fine because there are a lot of things that are hard to understand or to pin down, but you are in an evolutionary mode, like a metamorphosis, but meantime check for reality about all issues and don’t hide from them.

CAPRICORN

Be wary if born December 25^th to January 4^th about communications with family, particularly siblings and on the domestic front, as they can go awry and there can be blocks and delays domestically too. 

After the 15^th, the same group will feel that everything is much clearer and progressive.

From the 24^th, all of you will feel the power of love and harmony.  It’s very good for social life, creativity, and the arts and around children’s issues and romance gets a boost too. 

Mars is currently in your sign and for all born December 29^th to January 14^th, there is courage and a determination and a physicality of energy that is constructive and assertive.  Just beware it doesn’t tip into over-assertiveness or a bit of a bossy quality, but energy abounds constructively if used wisely.

Jupiter is very positive now for those born January 9^th to 14^th.  Friends are useful and helpful.  There is confidence.  There is a feeling of moving forward.  It’s good for travel.  Goals and projects can get the green light. 

Saturn however, for those born December 29^th to January 1^st is sitting on your Sun and this does bring a need for review and caution as blocks and reality checks are strong.  It also makes you tired and you need to look after your body and remember that it has its limits.  Hard work, focus, discipline is demanded of you, but pace yourself, because the work that you put in will ultimately work well, even if at the time it is exhausting. 

Uranus, for those born after January 17^th, is bringing a feeling for the coming year of a little bit of turmoil domestically.  Things are unpredictable, changeable and this is an interesting journey with a sense of needing to keep flexible and to accept the unexpected, but not to be too impulsive.  Keep fluid.  This is a journey, not an arrival. 

However, for those born January 4^th to 7^th, Neptune is inspiring.  Your emotional self is very powerful.  You are much more sensitive, much more vulnerable and much more empathetic, caring and intuitive, which can be used very positively. 

Finally, Pluto has now moved to directly hit the Suns of those born January 11^th to 13^th.  This transit lasts for up to nearly 2 years and is once every 248 year in its influence, so very powerful.  Intense experiences are likely, but ones, which empower you and show you what you’re made of.  Fate is in the air.  Yes, endings are likely as are new beginnings, all of which are pushing you in your direction of fated travel and a sense of empowerment can be yours, which needs to be used wisely for the greater good.

AQUARIUS

This is a good month for your ability to shine in terms of communication and intellectuality.  However, beware that if born January 24^th to February 3^rd, there is before the 15^th a danger of not realising that other people have not thoroughly understood you and you have not thoroughly understood them and there can be blocks and restrictions in communications and events.  After the 15^th, things clarify. 

Before the 24^th, many of you may be feeling very extravagant and over-extravagant possibly on the domestic and family front.  However, after the 24^th, for all born up to January 28^th, there is a resurgence of a feeling of enjoyment of life, sociability and love life can become much richer. 

Jupiter is currently also squaring the Suns of those born February 8^th to 13^th.  This may bring a little bit of over-reaching, over-confidence, a bit of arrogance or complacency, particularly on the work front.  Although it can be a time of expansion, be careful about taking things for granted. 

Uranus is also very well placed now in his once every 42-year happy visitation by sextile to your Sun, if born after February 15^th.  As he is your ruling planet, this brings an extra dose of objectivity, outside the box thinking and intuition, which really serves you well and really brings out the best of your Aquarian insight and understanding and ability to communicate it well.

PISCES

Focus on money and finances and security may be important this month and make sure before the 15^th that you are all clear about the situation on that level, because there is room for misunderstandings and confusions.  After the 15^th, you can get things more correctly.

All month Venus going through Taurus suggests a very sociable time where friends are particularly important to you and loving and cooperate and where your goals and your favourite activities thrive.

After the 24^th, particularly if born up to February 26^th, one needs to be a little wary of the potential for spending more money and indulging oneself or one’s family when it’s connected to home and the domestic front.  Stop and think before you spend. 

Mars is constructive now for all born from February 26^th through until March 14^th.  Friends are particularly constructive.  Your leadership skills are strong as is your ability to make things happen that you believe in.  Your ideological focus is also satisfactory and effective. Intelligent energy is yours.

Jupiter is also very helpful now from Scorpio for all born March 9^th to 14^th.  It is a brilliant time for travel and international issues. It is very good for academic issues and growth and good for legal and publishing issues.  There is confidence.  There is intelligence. There is optimism and growth, both inner and outer and a need for expansion and a sense of enjoyment.

Saturn is also friendly, but stern towards those born February 26^th to March 1^st.  For this group, there is a seriousness of purpose, a focus, and maturity, particularly in dealing with goals that are important to you.  There is loyalty to friends and also a need to shoulder burdens of responsibilities and duties to others and self, but with joy and constructive patience, which brings great benefit.
